Today we congratulate Chief Chas McGarvey on his retirement from his role as Chief Fire Officer in Lower Merion Township. With over 44 years of service to the local community, Chief McGarvey moves on to his next role as the PA State Fire Commissioner. Chas got his start in the fire service here at Bryn Mawr Fire Company, eventually achieving the rank of Company Chief. Chas was only the eighth Chief in Bryn Mawr's 100+ year history. A firefighter, an officer, a softball player, a father and a friend, Chas is forever a part of the rich history of Bryn Mawr Fire Company. Chief, we wish you well in your future endeavors and hope you stop in from time to time.
