At approximately 21:00 hours on October 20th, Bryn Mawr Fire Company was dispatched to mile marker 14.6 NB on Interstate 476 for a car fire. Squad 23 was the first to arrive with the engine compartment of an SUV well involved and in the right shoulder on the southbound side. Crews from Stations 23 and 24 blocked traffic and extinguished the fire without incident. The crew from Squad 39 encountered a person on the highway claiming to be the driver of the vehicle and called EMS to attend to the victim. The fire was brought under control and all units were available after ~30 minutes.
